Your child will be at camp from approximately 9:15am-4:00pm Monday through Friday (not including transportation time.) However, the camp day begins before your child will even set foot in CDR! When your child gets on the bus each morning, he or she will be met with fun games and great programs for the ride to and from camp with our qualified bus counselors.
- Door to door transportation (applicable to most towns within Morris & Essex Counties) for your child to and from camp (door to door is only guaranteed for campers whose applications are received by May 1st)
- Centralized transportation for your child to and from camp is available from the Cooperman JCC in West Orange. Parent Transportation is always available should you choose to drive and pick up your camper daily.
No need! Camp Deeny Riback will provide your camper with a Full Kosher Hot/Cold lunch daily complemented by a full salad bar, plain pasta, tuna & soy-butter and jelly sandwiches.
CDR offers 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 week sessions. Campers who are enrolled for 4 weeks, must be enrolled for the first four or second four consecutive weeks. Campers who are enrolled for 5 or more weeks, can pick and choose which weeks they would like.
Our “Camp Friends” Inclusion program is for campers with mild to moderate special needs. In this program your child is mainstreamed in a camp group enjoying all that camp has to offer. Your child is assigned a one-on-one Shadow Counselor to assist with all needs and to help your child find success in the program. Generally speaking, it is often difficult to distinguish the Shadow Counselor from the General Counselor as the group is designed to work as a fluid and cohesive group. This program is offered for campers in PreK to grade 6. To make sure we’re the right fit for your camper, an interview and acceptance into the program is required. For more information, please contact the camp office! This shadow program was made possible in part by support from Anonymous Donors and Greater MetroWest ABLE. Greater MetroWest ABLE is convened by Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. Camp Deeny Riback is a certified provider of services through PerformCare. JCC MetroWest strives to ensure access and meaningful participation by all members of the community.
For our youngest campers, we also provide a 3-day option where your child can explore all the magic that CDR has to offer in half the time!
Our Healthcenter is always staffed during camp hours, by an RN or a certified EMT.
Every camper should come to camp with 2 bathing suits (we recommend coming to camp already wearing one) and 2 towels. Campers may leave labeled sunscreen and extra clothes (if needed) in their cubby.
Comfortable clothes and closed-toed sneakers are required daily. Sandals or flip flops are only permitted in the pool area. Each camper will get one complimentary Camp T-Shirt. Additional shirts may be purchased by contacting the camp office. Campers are required to wear their camp shirt on any off-site trip or picture day.
At CDR, the support and dedication of our parents is paramount. We are fortunate to have a year-round group of parents who work towards achieving all the great innovations and upgrades our campers can enjoy summer after summer. The CAMP COMMITTEE is already busy getting ready for the summer. If you are interested in joining the camp committee, please contact the camp office!
