It’s the magic of CDR that brings Julie back for her tenth summer. Julie loves to watch both the campers and staff grow both personally and professionally each summer. Camp teaches each of us many life lessons and she loves to be part of that each summer. Camp enhances each of our self-esteem and both memories and friendship are created that often last a lifetime. Julie is fortunate to have at camp with her both her boys. Her son, Shane is now working in facilities at camp and Lance will be a first year LIT. Julie and her leadership team work hard to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for children and staff to grow, learn and most of all, have fun.
Ben has been a vital part of the CDR family for 22 years. His passion for CDR is evident each and every day as he greets campers each morning at Boker Tov, joins in on ice cream parties for campers’ birthdays, and makes each special event a little more special than the one before!
When Ben isn’t dressing up for a CDR theme day, you can find him watching sports–especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Boston Red Sox, taking long walks on the beach, or enjoying a beautiful sunset at CDR. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.
Ben is a New Jersey native and a graduate of William Paterson University.
Debra’s first experience with Camp Deeny Riback was when her oldest son attended as a 1st grader. She immediately recognized the warm and nurturing experience her son had that summer. She was so excited that she joined the CDR team the next summer and brought her youngest son there too! Since then she has had several roles at camp, and now is our Registrar. This is her favorite role because she loves being able to share her excitement and passion about CDR with other families and share how it has enhanced and enriched her and her son’s lives in such a positive way. Deb and her boys are so grateful to be part of the magic of CDR!
Lauren has been a member of the CDR staff since 2001. She began summers in the office but her love of CDR led her to join the year-round staff as the Business Manager. Lauren’s responsible for the magic that goes on behind the scenes of camp which includes supporting the program areas, managing inventory, and working with vendors. She loves the people and spirit at CDR.
Lauren has worked for a variety of Jewish camps & organizations including Federation & as a Synagogue Director. However, camp is her true passion! In her free time, Lauren enjoys cooking, traveling, and mastering computer skills. A fun fact about Lauren is that she played varsity volleyball in high school! Throughout the years, Lauren has shared her passion for CDR with her family who have been involved at camp as both campers and staff members.
In the summer, we are joined by an amazing team of professionals including certified teachers and social workers. These professionals dedicate their summers to creating a safe and fun environment at CDR.
